Wow this week I hit ten months! I cannot believe how fast the time goes. The mission is shuch a short time of a lifetime experience. This week we have been working really hard. We had 7 lessons with a member present (which is a ton for a branch of seven active members) and we also have put up two baptism dates in the last two weeks. And this week we should have two more. All 4 these baptisms are going to happen in July and its very likely I wont be in this are to see them. Its hard to be an in a area like this for so long and in the end I don't think I will see the fruits of my labors.

Another thing that's going to happen this week is the division of my mission. As of this Wednesday I will no longer be a missionary in Guatemala North, but I will be a missionary in Guatemala Coban. I'm going to miss some of my friends in the other mission and President Watts but I'm really looking forward to what the future will be like in this new mission.

I'm more sure than ever that this is the Lords work. Its growing at a rapid pace and can't be stopped. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the only true church on the earth. The only church authorized by Christ himself.

*Drew did not send a regular letter last week or this week but he did send pics.  Here are the ones he sent this week.  He said that he is killing at least 4 rats/day.  Sooooo gross!!
Today is 43 weeks since Drew left on his mission.  He has 3 more weeks before the next transfers, maybe he will get moved to a house without so many rats. :)

This week has been one of the more difficult week in my mission. We have been working really hard and we have been really obedient, but I feel that almost nothing is bouncing our way. We only have 3 members in the branch that can leave with us to work, but all three of them are really busy and don't want to work with us. I feel like we are always fighting to gain support from the members. We plan so many activities trying to help the growth of this branch, but it seems to not work because the members have no interest in helping. And as we have felt desperate to gain the help of these members we have more bad luck with our appointments falling and what not. Then on Friday the worst part came when the electricity got cut in our house. About two weeks ago we got our light bill and we sent it to the finance Elders, so that they could pay it. When our lights got cut we called them and they told us sorry and they forgot to pay it. Now we have been living with no lights or food, because my food in the fridge went bad and we can't cook without electricity. And I think we now have more rats in the house because there are no lights. Last night I was reading in bed with a flashlight reading my scriptures when a rat climbed over my arm and ran away!!  I'm just super stressed about that!
On a good note..... our baptism from this last week was given the priesthood this Sunday and he bore one of the most powerful testimonies of my whole mission. When I'm dealing with a ton of crap like the lights and the rats, moments like this make me remember why I'm here and dealing with this mess. I really think in three weeks he will baptize his daughter. I'm very excited about that. I know that this work is true and that the Lord is gathering his people for the second coming. I'm so thankful for the opportunity I have to be a missionary and to be able to help the Lord in this work.
